When the Henry Long Ranger was released in 2016, we set a new bar in lever action precision. Combining bolt action accuracy with the speed of a lever gun, the Long Ranger’s six-lug rotary bolt, aerospace grade aluminum construction, free-floated barrel, and detachable box magazine make for a best-in-class hunting platform. Building on the success of those original Long Rangers, we set out to create a utilitarian, multi-purpose, and exceedingly capable rifle for the contemporary outdoorsman. More than just a precision game-getter, the trimmed down and ruggedized Long Ranger Express is equally capable at hunting your property as it is defending it.
For an all-purpose rifle, practical accuracy, mobility, and ammunition availability should be prioritized over outright firepower. We’ve chosen to chamber the Long Ranger Express in the ubiquitous .223 Rem/5.56 NATO exclusively, fed from a 5-round steel-bodied detachable box magazine. The Express features a quick-handling carbine length 16.5” barrel, threaded 1/2×28 to accept the muzzle device of your choosing. You may opt for a muzzle brake to reduce felt recoil and keep the Express flat on target in the field, or a suppressor to reduce your signature and keep peace with the neighbors.
